Common questions about PC bottlenecks and performance.
What is a hardware bottleneck?
A bottleneck occurs when one component (usually the CPU or GPU) reaches its maximum capacity while others are underutilized. This results in wasted potential and lower frame rates.
Should I upgrade my CPU or GPU first?
It depends on your resolution. At 1080p, the CPU is more likely to be the bottleneck. At 4K, the GPU is almost always the limiting factor. Our analyzer can help you decide based on your specific build.
How much RAM do I need for gaming in 2026?
16GB is the bare minimum for modern AAA titles. However, 32GB is becoming the new standard for a smooth experience without background task interference.
Is browser-based benchmarking accurate?
While not as precise as low-level native tools, modern browser engines (using WebGPU and WASM) can provide a very high correlation to native performance for synthetic workloads.
