For many, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is the 'final boss' of the AM4 platform. It still trades blows with many newer chips. However, with DDR5 prices dropping, the AM5 platform (Ryzen 7000/9000) offers a clearer upgrade path. If you already have a high-end AM4 motherboard and 32GB of DDR4, the 5800X3D is a no-brainer. If starting fresh, AM5 is the only logical choice for future compatibility.
